Leadership Academy of Virginia is a student-centered microschool, located in Fredericksburg, Virginia. We are proud to welcome a diverse community of learners, ages 6-11.
Our Philosophy
We believe, with intentional guidance, all students have the potential to reach their goals — and to realize their highest potential. All students have unique abilities and needs; and therefore, deserve an educational platform that honors their individuality.
A Unique Approach
Our program is designed to provide a well-rounded education consisting of a tailored learning path, self-paced learning, holistic development and real-world experiences. Our curriculum is designed to nurture "vertical" skills—maturity, wisdom, and self-awareness — alongside the "horizontal" academic competencies students will need for the future.
At Leadership Academy of Virginia, we believe social/emotional development is equally important as academic success. When foundational social/emotional skills aren't integrated and aligned with a student's educational plan, it increases the chances for imbalance and disruption of the student's learning progression. That is why we are proudly committed to focusing on the 'whole child' — promoting self awareness, self regulation, self discipline and self love.
